Meet the friends: Lingling wears a blue spacesuit, Mimi wears a purple helmet, and Little Bear Yu wears an orange flight suit. Old Crow the referee blows the whistle to start the race.
Their surfboards look like little frisbees and float along with the gravitational waves. The surfboards leave colorful trails, like tiny meteors.
The race begins! The gravitational waves rise and fall like ocean waves, and the kids jump onto their surfboards together.
The waves are sometimes tall and sometimes soft. Lingling feels a little scared, and Mimi and Little Bear Yu hold his hand and encourage him.
They learn to coordinate, turning with the waves like a dance. The stars watching from afar cheer, twinkling like tiny lights.
At last they surf across the finish line together. The race is over; there are no winners or losers, and everyone smiles and hugs.
Old Crow the referee gives each of them a small star as a prize. Lingling says, "The most important thing is friends and happiness! " They all look at the sea of stars and smile.
