Lily Learns to Tie
A gentle, step-by-step story for preschoolers teaching simple shoelace-tying tips using the bunny ears method and encouraging practice.
This is Lily. She wants to learn to tie her shoelaces.
Her shoes have rainbow laces. The laces look long and wiggly.
Mama shows the bunny ears trick. She makes two small loops.
First, cross the laces to make an X. Pull one lace through the hole and tug.
Make a loop with one lace. Hold it like a little bunny ear.
Wrap the other lace around the loop. Push it through to make another loop.
Pull both loops tight to finish. If you want, make a small extra knot for safety.
You did it! Practice slowly and count to three each time. Lily runs off to play, proud of herself.
