Little Red's Brave Walk
A lively, slightly more exciting retelling of Little Red Riding Hood for ages 3–6. Little Red takes a bright walk to her grandmother's cottage with a basket of treats. Along the way she meets a clever wolf, learns to be brave, and with quick thinking and a friendly woodcutter, saves the day. The story emphasizes caution, kindness, and cleverness in a cozy fairy‑tale tone.
Little Red put on her bright red hood. She carried a basket of warm bread and jam for Grandma.
Her mother said, "Stay on the path and do not talk to strangers." Little Red nodded and skipped along.
In the woods the leaves whispered. A clever grey wolf watched from behind a bush.
The wolf stepped out with a friendly smile. "Where are you going, little one?" he asked.
Little Red remembered her mother's words, but she wanted to be polite. "To Grandma's cottage," she said with a small smile.
The wolf grinned and ran a quick, sneaky plan. He darted down a hidden trail to reach Grandma's cottage first.
The wolf knocked and hid in Grandma's bed, wearing her nightcap. When Little Red arrived, she felt a little puzzled.
She said, "Grandma, what big eyes you have!" The wolf replied in a deep voice, "All the better to see you with!"
Little Red felt a flutter in her stomach. She remembered one more thing — her cleverness. She asked for a song to cheer Grandma.
As she sang, a woodcutter heard the voice and came in. He opened the wardrobe where Grandma had been hiding and everyone cheered.
Grandma hugged Little Red tight and shared the warm bread and jam. The wolf promised to be kinder and left the forest to learn better manners.
Little Red waved goodbye and walked home along the sunlit path. She kept her hood bright and her smile brighter.
